Medicaid covers 100% of non-emergency transportation to-from physician's offices, radiology departments, hospitals, homes, etc. Medicaid will not only cover transportation costs for patients requiring a strecher, but for patients who can sit on a wheelchair. The only thing that Medicaid requires is that the treating facility is performing a Medicaid covered service.
Medicare and most private insurance carriers will cover non-emergent transportation to-from doctor's offices, hospitals, radiology suites, etc. ONLY IF the patient is on a strecher.
Urgent or Emergent transportation is covered by all carriers.
